Setting up your account on Xbox

Note: The steps in this article are for players using Xbox, and may be different for those who are playing the game through PC, PlayStation, or mobile.

To play KartRider: Drift from Xbox, you may either use a guest account by clicking Play Now, or link a Nexon account to your Xbox account by clicking Create/Link Account.

Create a guest account by selecting “Play Now”

Racers wishing to start playing immediately are not required to create or link to a Nexon account. Instead, you can create a guest account, which will be linked to your Xbox account.

Important: If you wish to keep your progress on another platform, or make that an option for later, you can link your account via the Account Linking page. (For more information on linking your platform and Nexon accounts, see the Support Center article Using the Account Linking Website.)

To create a guest account for KartRider: Drift on Xbox:

1. Launch KartRider: Drift.
2. Select the “Play Now” button by pressing the “B” button on your controller.
   
3. Acknowledge the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Agreements by pressing the "Y" button on your controller.
   
4. Select “Play” by pressing the “A” button on your controller.
   
5. Once you load into the game you’ll be prompted to select your Control Settings, then proceed through the tutorial. 

Create and link a new Nexon account

To create and link a new Nexon account to Xbox:

1. Launch KartRider: Drift.
2. Select “Create/Link Account” by pressing the “A” button on your controller.
   
3. An external browser will open. You can choose to activate by going to nexon.com/activate and entering the eight-digit code, or by scanning the QR code.
4. Choose your preferred login method as prompted. Follow any on-screen instructions presented by the login method that you selected.
   
5. After creating an account, you’ll receive a confirmation message that your account has been verified.
   
6. Return to the game. Select “OK” by pressing the “A” button on your controller.
   
7. Once you load into the game you’ll be prompted to select your Control Settings, then proceed through the tutorial.

Note: When you access the game again, you will be automatically logged in with your linked account.

Link an existing Nexon account

To link an existing Nexon account to Xbox:

1. Launch KartRider: Drift.
2. Select “Create/Link Account” by pressing the “A” button on your controller.
   
3. An external browser will open. Choose your activation method by going to nexon.com/activate and entering the eight-digit code, or by scanning the QR code.
   
4. Log in to your Nexon account using the login method you signed up with. Follow any on-screen instructions presented by the login method that you selected.
   
5. After logging in, you’ll receive a confirmation that your account has been verified.
   
6. Return to the game. Select “OK” by pressing the “A” button on your controller.
   
7. Once the game has opened, you will be ready to play. 
   • If you have an existing Racer associated with your Nexon account, your character and items will be available.
   • If you are a new KartRider player, you’ll be prompted to select your Control Settings, then proceed through the tutorial.

Note: When you access the game again, you will be automatically logged in with your linked account.
