Setting up your account on Steam (PC)

Note: The steps in this article are for players using Steam, and may be different for those who are playing the game through mobile or console.

To play KartRider: Drift from Steam, you may either use a guest account by clicking Play Now, or link a Nexon account to your Steam account by clicking Create/Link Account.

Create a guest account by selecting “Play Now”

Racers wishing to start playing immediately are not required to create or link to a Nexon account. Instead, you can create a guest account, which will be linked to your Steam account.

Important: If you wish to keep your progress on another platform, or make that an option for later, you can link your account via the Account Linking page. (For more information on linking your platform and Nexon accounts, see the Support Center article Using the Account Linking Website.)

1. Click the “Play Now” button, or press the “ESC” key on your keyboard.
   
2. Acknowledge the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Agreements by clicking on the blue “Terms and Conditions” button to the right, or by pressing the “O” key on your keyboard. 
   
3. Select the “Play” button, or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard. 
4. Create your Racer Name. Then select “Next” or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard to proceed.

Important: Racer Names cannot be more than 16 characters, and must abide by the Code of Conduct outlined within the Terms of Service. Please make sure to check if your Racer Name is taken. If there are any errors, they will be shown on the screen; otherwise, if there are no errors, you will be able to use the Racer Name and click Next to proceed.

Create and link a new Nexon account

To create and link a new Nexon account to Steam:

1. Launch KartRider: Drift through Steam.
2. Select the “Create/Link Account” button, or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard.
   
3. An external browser will open. Choose your preferred login method as prompted.
   
4. Follow any on-screen instructions presented by the login method that you selected.
5. After creating an account, you’ll receive a confirmation message that your account has been verified.
   
6. Return to the game. Select the “OK” button or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard, then enter a Racer Name as prompted.
   

Note: When you access the game again, you will be automatically logged in with your linked account.

Link an existing Nexon account

To create and link an existing Nexon account to Steam:

1. Launch KartRider: Drift through Steam.
2. Select the “Create/Link Account” button, or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard.
   
3. An external browser will open. Log in to your Nexon account using the login method you signed up with.
   
4. Follow any on-screen instructions presented by the login method that you selected.
5. After logging in, you’ll receive a confirmation that your account has been verified.
   
6. Return to the game. Select the “OK” button, or press the “Enter” key on your keyboard.
   
7. Once the game has opened, you will be ready to play. 
   • If you have an existing Racer associated with your Nexon account, your character and items will be available.
   • If you are a new KartRider player, enter a Racer Name as prompted.
